Playdough Recipe Without Cream of Tartar
Although most playdough recipes use salt in some way or another, in this playdough recipe salt is the main ingredient which is why it isn’t made with cream of tarter. This recipe for playdough is very different from most others. It makes for a bit of a more grainy homemade playdough that is not quite as smooth, but it’s easy to make and is quick to cook. Salt Playdough is a great alternative to a more traditional playdough recipe, especially if you are missing cornstarch or cream of tartar . Take note that you will need extra flour for this playdough recipe!
Ingredients for this Playdough Recipe Without Cream of Tartar…
- salt – 1 cup
- water – 1 cup
- flour – 2 cups
- cooking oil – 1 tbsp
Directions for this recipe:
- Mix all the ingredients together in a bowl until smooth
- Cook over medium heat
- Cook until thick and consistent
- Let it cool and knead in flour as it is cooling until it is nice and doughy
This recipe makes good playdough, just make sure you knead in enough flour at the end while the mixture is cooling. With this playdough recipe for kids you can create something they will love playing with and something they have made themselves. While this recipe does not produce edible playdough, it still makes a great toy you can make at home and it’s pretty darn easy!
