Oatmeal Playdough Recipe

You can make a great oatmeal homemade playdough with only normal oatmeal and a few other ingredients.

This Oatmeal playdough recipe makes a great change from normal or store bought playdough and has a very different texture and consistency but is still easy to shape and form with just like our pumpkin pie playdoh recipe.

Oatmeal playdough makes a great alternative to standard playdough and since you don’t have to cook it, it makes a great playdough recipe for kids to do as a craft project with you.

oatmeal playdoh recipeIngredients for this oatmeal playdough recipe:

  • flour – 1 cups
  • oatmeal – 2 cups
  • water – 1 cup

Directions for this oatmeal playdough recipe:

  • Mix the oatmeal and flour together in a bowl
  • Slowly add water to mixture
  • Knead the mixture until it is smooth and uniform
  • Add some coffee grounds or cornmeal to try different textures

You will notice that this oatmeal playdough recipe will be a little bit sticky after you make it. That is quite normal and different from the rubbery playdough recipe or the traditional recipe for playdough.

You can add some coffee grounds and/or cornmeal to reduce the stickiness and change to texture to whatever you like, even glitter. This one is great for kids but make sure it is in the kitchen as it can get messy!
