This is the easiest playdough recipe you can make and it is the most common. It is a great recipe because it works very well, is very kid friendly, and can be easily taught to other people. It does not produce the best quality playdough, but it does make for quick and easy playdough that works pretty well. This is a great place to start if you are looking for the perfect homemade playdough recipe. This playdough recipe is all natural, with color added though beets, spinach, or any other natural color source you like!

I am so very happy to have located this website. I plan to make the recipe for my grandson. The most favorite one I’d like to make is the natural playdough recipe!

HI,
i’m about to venture and make my own playdough for my kids. just like to know can i use light olive oil or canola oil? will that affect the texture or lifespan of the playdough? or affect the colouring? how long does natural playdoughs last?
Regards
Hi Linda,
I believe olive oil should be a fine substitute and shouldn’t really change anything. Natural playdough, because of the juice lasts for only a few days even when refrigerated. At least that is what we recommend.
Thanks!
Interesting~ I got given a ton of fruit last week from a friend and decided to make juice out of it all.
